Artist and welder Lyle Rudloff strives to capture the essence of children's drawings, maintaining the elements of their original designs while adding the drama, power and presence of metal.

Sophie was inspired by a child's submission in the poster contest for the Women's PGA tournament in Newport two years ago. Maybe she didn't win the contest, but Sophie won a place in Lyle's heart. She created in him the overwhelming desire to bring a wonderful, simple drawing seen in the newspaper into the world!
