“Anniversary Bouquet” is Toni Petersen’s lasting memory of the huge vase of gorgeous, sweet-smelling flowers given by her husband, artist Norm Petersen, on their 50th anniversary. It’s painted on yupo paper – actually a plastic – which provides a special challenge: Paints are not absorbed; they sit on the surface and are manipulated by brushes and other implements to form the images you see. Toni’s work took first-place watercolor awards at the 2004 Warren Art Festival and the 2005 Portsmouth Arts Guild spring exhibition.
