"Old Pawtuxet Village" by Maxwell Mays

Description
Maxwell Mays tells a story with each of his paintings. His work reflects his love of Rhode Island, its people and its history. Rhode Island’s best-known collectible artist, Max began painting seriously while serving in World War II. Returning home after five years in uniform, he viewed Rhode Island in a new, joyous light – but retaining strong recollections of how things used to be. And the joy of the past, as evidenced here, has been a recurring theme in his work.
