Dale Long holds a Bachelor of Music Ed. from the Crane School of Music and a Masters in Music (applied, low brass) from Northwestern University. He was a member and featured soloist with the US Air Force Band of the West and played with various groups throughout his travels including the San Antonio Brass, San Antonio Civic Symphony, and Peterborough City Symphony (Enlgand), to name just a few.

Dale currently plays the euphonium with the Vermont Winds, bass trombone with the Vermont Philharmonic and Burlington Choral Society orchestras, and is the president of the Board and music director of the Green Mountain Brass Band. His daughter, Caitlin, currently plays French horn in VYS.
