Description
"Besides teaching Anatomy, I have an interest in art and art collecting, especially of the Italian Renaissance. One of my favorite places to visit is the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in the Fenway. This museum was built by Mrs Gardner at the beginning of the 20th century and is modeled after a Venetian palazzo that she and her husband used to visit. It contains lots of important paintings and sculptures by artists, such as Rembrandt, Botticelli and Titian, that she collected during her visits to Venice and Florence. There is also a very beautiful indoor garden that changes with the seasons.
What I propose is to give a couple of students a personal tour of the museum
(admission and refreshments included) some Sunday afternoon in January or February when we could use a break from the bleak Boston winter. The museum also has a concert series on Sunday afternoons which we could attend as well."
