Ron Agam, son of Israeli artist Yaacov Agam, translated his upbringing in an artistic environment to the medium of his choice--photography. On July 14 , the French government awarded Ron their highest honor: the Legion d’Honneur by President Sarkozy.

Winning bidder will receive an amazing 4' by 4' photograph by Ron Agam, called Yellow Ranaculae. This large photograph is meant to be viewed from a distance of eight feet.

Special Instructions

This piece is one of the first studies Ron did on this flower and will be part of an exhibition that will open this winter at a reputed gallery in Chelsea where the pieces will be 6 x 6 feet.  The inspiration for Yellow Ranaculae is from artists like Georgia O’Keefe, Mapplethorpe and others. The urgency of this work is related to the most important issue of our time:  the balance between progress and the evolution of nature in the context. "The flower for me is the most intimate link between the ephemeral situation of nature, and our present model of contemporary  civilization."

Ron shot these flowers in macro and typically blows them to a size larger than a human being (this one is 4' by 4')  so that the scale imposed on the viewer halts and stop their attention on the magnificence and majesty of nature.
