The image of rock 'n roll icon, John Lennon has been created using a classic quilting technique and recycled concert t-shirts are being combined by the talents of visual arts teacher Bob Mosier to create an auction item for the upcoming John Cooper School Gala to help raise funds for the school. Mosier began creating the quilt as a donation from the Upper School (grades 9-12) in January at his home studio, using the image of rock 'n roll icon John Lennon as the focus. "The piece has the image of Lennon on the front, done in appliqué and constructed of blocks using a variation of the log cabin design/technique," Mosier said. "Surrounding that, a border of smaller blocks will be made from concert t-shirts that were donated by faculty and students for the piece."  The back of the quilt will include the names of all students in the Upper School along with the school watermark.
