An 18-story tower serrated with angular balconies dominates this complex fringed with trim tropical gardens and a koi pond. The dark lobby in warm colors offers plenty of fan-cooled seating, an espresso stand and pool views. The restaurant stilted over the bay is an aging place of joined wooden hexagons and cold gray decor.

The big pool is shaped like the state of California, set in a spacious, sunny deck next to a free-form whirlpool large enough for 16 guests at a time. A half-dozen or so traditional palm-topped palapas give the pool area a convincing tropical look. The 24-hour marina-view fitness center is well-equipped for all but the most fervent gym rat. Great upgrade pricing is available!  The winning bidders can upgrade their coach class airfare to first class airfare by calling 800-209-6888.  A minimum of 21 days advance booking is required as is a Saturday night stay. The winning bidders will be able to earn AAdvantage miles in accordance with the terms and conditions of the AAdvantage frequent flyer program. Miles cannot be utilized to upgrade these coach class certificates to a higher level of service. The certificates will have a one-year expiration date from the date issued and all reservations are subject to availability.
