Description
Whether you want to get a prefab Sukkah that goes up in 30 minutes, or you want to build your own elaborate Sukkah as a personal religious and artistic expression, you need this class to be sure that you’ll be happy with the result.
The class will include:
• What to consider before you start? The questions to ask yourself before you take your first step. What will make YOU happy?
• Building your own versus buying a prefab.
• Pitfalls to avoid.
• Selecting a location.
• What size do I need? There are rules-of-thumb that you must consider.
• Clearance needed around the table.
• Chair and table considerations.
• What pre-fabs are on the market, how do I choose one, and where can I get one?
• What are my Do-It-Yourself options?
• What are the requirements for the roof, and what options do I have?
• Protection from rain. One good shower can leave everything soaked. What can you do?
• Lighting, and electrical safety.
• Heating? Less daunting than you think.
• Decorating the Sukkah: simple, or an elaborate theme.
• Off-season storage.
The class will be held at the MWJDS, at a mutually agreeable date in late March or April. This will give those with the most ambitious plans time to plan for next Sukkot.
The top 5 bidders will be able to participate in the class.
