Founder and Creative Director, Lindsay Condron, grew up vacationing on the beaches of Cape Cod and Nantucket amid ultra-preppy styles, tanned skin, and “Kennedy accents.” She treasures the memories she has of those summers, but not only for the reasons you might think. Yes, she loved the clambakes, the boat races, and afternoon bike rides on Nantucket’s cobblestone streets, but it was also during these summers that she fondly remembers tapping into her inner rebel.
“According to my mother, my hair was never tame enough, my lipstick shade was always a little too bright, and I would constantly horrify her with my choice of attire for any social gathering.” She was a girl who quite proudly didn’t always adhere to the rules—socially and sartorially. While she appreciated many of the preppy staples that dominated the East Coast summer fashion scene, their conservative cuts and lack of sex appeal often bored her. “I loved the preppy prints and summer dresses, but there wasn’t enough edge, so I would always mix things up by pairing my party dresses with an animal print wrap or my bright polo shirts and turtle necks with fun, fluttery mini skirts.”
In addition to her slightly rebellious fashion sense, Lindsay has also always been obsessed with bikinis. “I never had less than 10 new suits during a summer. This sounds a bit crazy, but I would start buying bikinis in February to prepare for beach season. Because of this basically life-long obsession, I’ve considered myself a bikini connoisseur for a very long time now.”
When she wasn’t summering on the Cape or Nantucket, Lindsay attended boarding school at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts. She then went to college at American University, where she majored in Business. After college, she moved to Chicago, where she lived for 3 years, and worked in Finance.
