One of the rarest collectibles, lithophane lamps were first made about 300 to 350 years ago in France and Germany. The art of lithophane, since lost, has been revived by David Failing who is the only artist in the USA who now does this. The entire image is done with varying thicknesses of porcelain with the original art work being created in paraffin.
