David Scheinmann shot this photo of Zhang Ziyi in China during a goodwill project to bring attention to the charity, Care for Children. Their aim is to foster home a million Chinese orphans/abandoned kids.

Zhang Ziyi was offered her first role in Zhang Yimou's The Road Home, which won the Silver Bear award in the 2000 Berlin Film Festival. Zhang further rose to fame due to her role as the headstrong Jen in the phenomenally successful Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, for which she won the Independent Spirit's Best Supporting Actress Award and the Toronto Film Critics' Best Supporting Actress Award. She led the cast of Memoirs of a Geisha to much success.

David Scheinmann’s feature film, The West Wittering Affair, screened at BIFF in 2006. David is a London based photographer, commercials director and filmmaker with UK European and US representation. As a filmmaker he has directed over 30 music videos and commercials and in 2005 completed his first feature film as director. His work in both photography and film has received a host of industry awards, and his limited edition photography is in numerous private collections
