Description
The first rubblestone tower and keeper’s house were completed in 1791 on the headland north of Cape Elizabeth, Maine guarding the nation’s sixth largest port. Completely rebuilt in 1813 and raised an additional 20 feet in 1865, the lighthouse has undergone numerous changes over the years. The beautiful keeper’s house we see today was built in 1891.
