Quarter Palm Watercolor Giclee Print by Robert Guthrie

Description
This Quarter Palm Watercolor is printed on 17" x 22" archival paper and the image is approximately 14" x 18".
Using a high-tech process known in the fine art world as "Giclée", we create fine art limited edition prints from our original painting. The process begins with a digital high resolution scan of the original painting. Special software programs are used to manipulate the attributes of the digitized image, (i.e., color balance, contrast, brightness, etc.) to achieve the artist's own desired requirements. The new digitized image is then printed on archival papers with colorfast archival pigment-based inks with a high resolution printer. Finally, each giclee is signed and numbered, and in most cases a remark is added by the artist.
About Robert Guthrie
Robert Guthrie is a New Orleans artist with a fresh look at its historic architecture. His distinctive styles have been featured in solo and group exhibitions throughout the United States, Mexico and France. Two years teaching serigraph printing at the Bellas Artes Institute in Central Mexico left him profoundly influenced by the regional aesthetic. In 1992 Robert was selected as the artist for the Official New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival Poster and in 1999 as an official designer for Les Rendez-vous D'Lerdre in Nantes, France.
Guthrie enjoys working in two distinct styles, thus keeping both he and his art fresh. He finds the fluid radiance of watercolor well-suited to the charismatic wash of lines and light intrinsic to the French Quarter. While these pieces are prized for what Guthrie refers to as the medium's "looseness," his other predominant style - bold, graphic print work - possesses a dynamic exactness that meets joie de vivre head-on. His creations appear throughout New Orleans on canvases, posters, walls, banners, and murals.
