Execution of Justice - February/March 2009

Two brutal assassinations shocked the nation and tore a city apart, but the man behind both of them was freed after only five years in prison.  The true story behind the untimely deaths in 1978 of San Francisco Mayor George Moscone and city Supervisor Harvey Milk, the first openly gay elected official in any large American city.  Their killer had his sentence reduced from first-degree murder to voluntary manslaughter on the strength of the now-infamous "twinkie defense."  It's been thirty years, what have we learned?

Genesius, a new musical - May 2009

The true story behind the improbable rise of Reading's theatre of the same name and the woman who wanted to offer teenagers and young adults a chance to work in the theater.  Along the way she unwittingly finds herself in an unconventional love affair with her co-founder - 25 years her junior.  After a workshop at the prestigious Goodspeed Opera House and a production at Genesius Theatre itself, this musical makes its Lehigh Valley premiere.  Genesius is a celebration of the true spirit of community theatre.
