Description

Say San Francisco dining and one immediately thinks fresh seafood. San Francisco Bay, as gateway to the Pacific Ocean and ports-of-call around the world, offers international coastal and fresh seafood from its own waters as well as the catch of fisherman from far-off waters of the globe.

Yabbies Coastal Kitchen, located in the charming Russian Hill district of San Francisco, is the quintessential international coastal restaurant. Yabbies, named after a freshwater crayfish found in the waters of Australia and new south wales, boasts a menu with unique recipes influenced from coastal towns all over the world.

Yabbies ingredients always come from local farmer's markets and fishermen. The diverse menu includes favorites such as cracked Maine lobster, sesame crusted ahi tuna, oysters from Bodega Bay and fresh Dungeness crab. Yabbies also includes coastal recipes such as Peruvian ceviche, spanish freshwater trout, and New England Clam bakes.

Yabbies has brought on a new Executive Chef Daniel Guerrini who is also the Executive Chef at Eos, our sister restaurant and Wine Bar from the quaint Cole Valley neighborhood. His relaxed yet effective philosophy for creating fresh and seasonal menu entails classic seafood recipes with exciting new twists.

Yabbies won the title of the best seafood restaurant of 2006 by the SF Weekly reader's Poll, Bon appetite magazine chose one of Yabbie's recipes for their August 2007 issue, the 2007 Zagat rated Yabbies as "outstanding". Yabbies was also deemed one of the Bay Areas notable restaurants by the 2007 Michelin Guide.

In addition to the fresh seafood, Yabbies also offers an extensive wine list that has been awarded the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for the past five years in a row.
