The original "Red Pick-Up," painted in egg tempura in the early 1950s and copyrighted in 1967 by artist Peter Hurd (1904-1984), was given to the New Mexico State University (NMSU) Foundation in 1987 by General Hugh Milton. The gift was made in recognition of the university's centennial, 1888-1988. The painting is on permanent exhibit at the NMSU president's home on the Las Cruces campus. The winning bidder receives a reproduction of this unique painting.
