Communication skills are the foundation for academic success.   Many students referred to speech and language specialists during their pre-school years are identified later as having reading, writing and/or spelling problems.   Follow-up studies of young children with identified speech and/or language problems clearly and consistently indicate that many early oral language problems evolve into or resurface as academic deficits.   Lisa O'Connor is a certified and licensed speech and language specialist with over 30 years of experience.  This donation includes a parent interview, formal and informal testing of the child, and a full report of the results and specific recommendations.
