Rising C Ranches was started in 1988 with the purchase of our first orange grove. We were a small grower compared to the large commercial plantings, but we had big ideas. We began by planting some acreage with unique citrus varieties that we found interesting. Our hope was to someday share those varieties with consumers.

In the following years we were able to build a small packing facility on our ranch and began to pack some of our own fruit – quite a big step for us as our earlier packing was done in the garage. This was the only way for us to get some of the special varieties packed for our first customers. More importantly, it allowed us to pick the fruit when we knew it was at its best, and we were able to pick and pack small amounts to meet customer’s needs. We were able to customize our packing to the special needs of each of the varieties. One of those ways was to pick the fruit with stem and leaf attached. This allows the beauty and vitality of the fruit to be appreciated. We were able to do this since we were small and picked only to orders and didn’t inventory the fruit in cold storage.

Since then, Rising C Ranches has grown with the purchase of several more ranches, all of them still small in the citrus arena. We planted many more new varieties, purchased a used but larger packing facility and retooled it to our specific needs. We were also able to work with a few associate growers to coordinate the varieties that they were replanting. This allowed us to offer these specialties to more consumers. We hired a wonderful associate to help out in the office for the administrative and sales needs. Our nephew joined our operation this year and is learning all aspects of the business and we hope he embraces what we have nurtured here.

Winning Bidder may select 25lbs of their choice of fresh citrus fruits to be delivered to them, or they can let the farm pick the best variety for the current ordering time period.

We may have grown, but it has been by baby steps and we have never forgotten where we started from. We still have several couples working for us who have been with us since the beginning. We have watched their families grow and their children grow up. They are the glue that holds this extended family together. By buying our fruit, you are joining our family too.

Our goal for Rising C Ranches is to offer customers not only new and exciting varieties but also those varieties they remember from their childhood. We want to produce the best tasting piece of fruit, pick it only when it’s ready and deliver it to the customer in a way that the freshness proves that it’s Ripe to You!
