The tradition of the Convention pin began at the 2003 event in Chicago. For each Convention, 250 pins are made and sold to attendees. Several pins are put aside (such as this one) for future silent auctions.

The DC pin was not available in time for the 2007 Convention, so a very limited quantity (125) was made to sell at the 2009 Convention in Orlando. This pin will be sold onsite for $10 each, on a first-come, first-served basis.
