Description
The Hudson Valley Seed Library not only sells heirloom seeds, it runs a seed borrowing program where backyard gardeners cooperate to save seeds with local history.
Their seeds are
• heirloom and open-pollinated
• non-GMO
• suited to local growing
• rooted in local history
Their seeds are selected for
• distinctiveness, not uniformity
• flavor, not shelf life
• history, not hybridization
• beauty, not conformity
The Hudson Valley Seed Library is donating a one year membership, two of our artist designed seed packs and a free pass to one of our seed saving workshops. For more information about our unique seed company visit www.seedlibrary.org.
The Seed Library is committed to reviving seed-saving skills specific to our bio-region. We offer seed saving events for gardeners of all levels. Many of our workshops are hands-on outdoor events held at local farms. These 3 hour gatherings usually include delicious heirloom vegetable tastings, sharing seed saving skills, and a discussion of the importance of saving seeds.
