Los Angeles Philharmonic Classical Concert Thursday April 9, 2009.

In his 17 years as Music Director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, Esa-Pekka Salonen has led this ensemble into a golden age. This is his last year as Music Director and the concert on April 9, 2009 reflects many of his personal favorite pieces. Joining him in this concert will be the Women of the Los Angeles Master Chorale, led by Grant Gershon. The works chosen for the evening include: Clocks and Clouds by Gyorky Ligeti, a new work by Salonen himself commissioned by the Los Angeles Philharmonica and Beethoven's famous 5th symphony.
