Description
This beautiful work is a 12 inch round spheroid constructed of recycled materials. You are bidding on the larger piece shown in the image on this listing.
Artist and Canyon dad Aaron Kramer describes his work saying, "the street sweeper bristles I use are from the spinning side brooms of street cleaners of Southern California. The recycled bristles are from a company that re-bristles the broom housings after they have worn out.
Since the early ‘90’s I have been weaving and constructing Spheres, Gourds, Baskets, Lights and other large organic forms from these materials. The weaving occurs over a thin wire armature that I alone weld. The constructed Spheroids are based on a geometric pattern that I discovered in 1991. Each Sphere is made from a series of 13 to 17 hoops and then hand beaded at major intersections. The bearing race that typically forms the top of a Gourd is a recycled car component. Everything is made in my studio in Venice, California."
