With this series of works, Gary Palmer addresses one of the most ancient concerns in art: the representation of landscapes. Using sumi ink, Palmer has developed a gestural method for creating simple yet heavily abstracted paintings.  The accidental nature of the resulting details allows the viewer to associate his ink horizons with landscapes they have known personally.
