The Judge Hanna House, built in 1870 and listed in the National Historic Registry, sits atop First Street, steps to the Britt music Festival (www.brittfest.org) and national forest.  Spend a perfect summer evening at this outdoor theater hidden in the trees above Jacksonville with nationally renowned classical, jazz, and contemporary artists. 

This authentic home has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.  A huge master suite with a king bed and private bathroom.  One bedroom with a queen bed and a porch overlooking town and the valley, another with two twin beds and a view of the forest. A two block stroll past original brick and wooden buildings and homes leads the way to galleries, bookstores, boutiques, award winning fine and casual restaurants, bakeries, coffee houses, antique shops, and historic museums.  A scenic 10 mile drive leads you to Ashland, home of the world renowned Ashland Shakespeare Festival (www.osfashland.org).  Visit sapphire blue Crater Lake National Park, known as the "Gem of the Cascades", drive through the Applegate Valley Wine Trail (www.applegatewinetrail.com),  visit the Historic Hanley Farm, or swim in the Applegate River under the Mckee Covered Bridge.  Walk just across the street from the Hanna House and take a hike up one of the many forest trails and learn of the gold miners, pick fruits in an orchard, or just take in the sounds, smells, and sights of the past.  Residents are "living in history" offering visitors a unique opportunity to share in the experience of a bygone era.
