Among Americans 45 and older, 65% say financial pressures make it more likely they will delay retirement, and 69% expect to spend less during retirement unless the economy improves markedly during the coming months. Almost six in 10 surveyed think they’re not saving enough. Even more ominous is the fact that 20% have stopped contributing money to their retirement plans—exactly opposite what should be done while prices are low.
