Middle C Music's Summer Tunes Music'S cool Summer 2008 is going to be a great big MUSICAL JAM! Summer Sessions for 2009 will be July 20-24, August 10 --14 & August 17-21. Boys and Girls ages 6-16.

Looking for something new and exciting to tell your children about? How about a way that they can participate in a band and make their own professional CD?? Middle C Music (Brookline) presents its 5th year of Summer Tunes Music'S cool. Summer Tunes offers an exciting outlet for musical kids of all levels, ages 6-16. Inspired by the millions of kids devoted to watching "American Idol", their own music students' interests, and their own musical jams during their studies at Berklee College of Music. While teaching privately and performing with a host of bands, Dan Williams and Darren Siman learned that many of today's musical kids wanted to play Hip Hop, R & B, and Rock N' Roll-the music of their generation, and that the  teaching methods of the past needed to follow the trends of today. Summer Tunes' success has relied heavily on a curriculum that interests its diverse students. In group format, "Tuners" (the kids) jam with their peers to all styles of music, compose original songs together; participate in classes with African Drummers, Recording Specialists, Vocalists, Rappers, and more. So not to forget about the validity of private instruction, Summer Tunes has teachers available for private lessons, where instructors help the students tackle any technical and musical challenges that they are experiencing. A big hit of the program is that all "Tuners" get to make their own CD. At the very end of the session, our students will get to spend time in a studio (complete with microphones, computers, headphones and more) with their band, recording their own songs. Finally, during the last day, they perform for all the parents and have a private CD release party celebrating their great achievements!
