Description

Once a working, steam powered mill, The Phoenix Roller Mill, as it was known, produced "Stumps Best" flour. It was built in 1898 from locally quarried stone and brick from the village brickyard. Today it overlooks the Miami & Erie Canal and the Maumee River, one of Ohio's scenic rivers, and is the home of The Mill House Bed and Breakfast.  Grand Rapids has always been an historical trading center, being situated along the Maumee River, a grand trading route of Northwestern Ohio. Grand Rapids is proud of its heritage & maintains an active trading tradition. Front Street boasts many antique & specialty shops, as well as attractions and both casual & fine dining. Both our village and the Historical Society of Grand Rapids have Websites. Please visit them soon. Call the Mill House at 419-832-6455
