About Ruth

Ruth has lived in Phoenix, AZ since 1961 after receiving a B.S. Degree in Art and Journalism and an M.A. in English from Indiana State University in Terre Haute. Ruth began painting full time after retiring from high school and college teaching in 1995. Since then, she has exhibited frequently in the Valley, New Orleans, San Francisco, Houston and Santa Fe and has won local and national awards. She has been a juried member of The Arizona Artists Guild since 1976.

Ruth's work is included in numerous private collections and the permanent collections of the Shemer Art Center and Museum Association, City of Phoenix Municipal Court Print Collection and Binney & Smith, Easton, PA.
