Description
Travel to Sri Lanka with your taste buds! Sandy Geeganage, a native of Sri Lanka, has offered to donate a home-cooked Sri Lankan meal for 4-6 people! The winning bidder will work with Sandy to customize the meal to his/her tastes with a choice of one traditional Sri Lankan entree, three traditional Sri Lankan sides, and white jasmine rice (see below for menu options)! The level of spiciness can be adjusted based on the winner's palate-very mild to traditional Sri Lankan, which can be extremely hot!
Special Instructions
Meal, along with warming up/heating instructions, will be delivered to winning bidder's home if it is within a 30 mile radius from GMA (900 N and Olio/Mt. Comfort Road, NE of Indianapolis). Otherwise, winning bidder may pick the meal up at GMA. Arrangements on the date and time for delivery/pickup will need to be made by winning bidder with Sandy Geeganage and may only occur on Saturdays/Sundays.
Menu Options (Entrees--choose one):
- Traditional Sri Lankan Lamb Curry-boneless leg of lamb, cubed and covered in roasted coriander, cumin, rice, cinnamon and slow cooked in a sauce that has shallots, turmeric, coconut milk, and a hint of tamrind.
- Traditional Sri Lankan Chicken Curry-chicken thighs or legs, marinated in roasted coriander, cumin, rice, cinnamon, cardamom, shallots and slow cooked in a suce that has coconut milk and tamarind.
- Traditional Sri Lankan Fish (Mahi Mahi or Snapper) or Shrimp Curry- Shrimp or Fish cooked in a sauce spiced with turmeric, cumin, coriander, ground rice, lemon grass, shallots, tomatoes.
Sides (choose 3):
- Red lentils cooked with onions, turmeric, coriander, cinnamon, cumin, garlic and ginger and topped off with coconut milk.
- Green beans minced and cooked with grated coconut, curry leaves, and turmeric.
- Asian eggplant cooked in ginger, garlic, hint of mustard, and topped off with coconut milk and sugar.
- Hardboiled eggs served in a sauce made with roasted ground rice, shallots, turmeric, fenugreek, and cardamom.
- Beets cooked in a suace with shallots, rice vinegar, sugar, coconut milk.
- Grated coconut mixed with dried red chillies, onions, and lime juice
- Cashews cooked in a suce made with roasted ground rice, shallots, turmeric, fenugreek, and cardamom.
Served with white jasmine rice.
