Inspiration Statement: The “Fountain Violin” is an instrument of art and love itself, the words, and the images are thought structures for healing. The fountain has the power to heal with the words: wisdom, faith, courage, harmony, and silence. 

Artist Bio: Camila Chaves Cortes expresses herself through drawing, painting, photography and film. The medium coupled with creation depicts her life force.  Her life force is about transformations - catalysts for growth, creating connections, and bringing forth the “new”. She captured, photographed and painted the two largest urban transformations at the turn of the century: Berlin and the Big Dig of Boston where she is recognized as the photographer of the Zakim Bridge, the new icon of Boston. Her works can be found in international private and corporate collections in Germany, Colombia, France, Fiji, and in the US including The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, MIT Rotch Visual Collection, Cambridge, MA; Harvard Photo Archives, Cambridge, MA; and the Bos­ton Architectural Center of Boston. www.mit.edu/~camila/portfolio/.
