Join veteran sea kayaker Don Hyman and paddle a 15 foot, advanced design, rudder equipped Wilderness Systems Tsunami model sea kayak on a trip from Southport to Sherwood Island and back. See the Gold Coast. Wave to Phil Donahue and Marlo Thomas. Explore exquisite, hidden coves in marshes behind Sherwood Island. Unbelieveable birding! Stop for a picnic lunch along the way. All equipment, PFD, etc. provided. Sorry, only one passenger can come. The weather will be perfect, or we won't go. Date tbd in Summer 09. Three roundtrip hour journey with stops.
Special Instructions
This trip is for a person who has some entry level kayak or canoe experience. Must know how to swim. Don't worry. We are radio equipped and certified at rescue and my wife often accompanies me. You'll use her kayak.
