Boasting the best Irish Breakfast in NYC, Pershing Square certainly delivers. If an all-meat breakfast isn't your thing (move over Dr. Atkins) there are plenty of made-on-premises pastries and breads to choose from from the quaint pastry counter in the front. A great place for a power breakfast or power lunch, but also a good spot to catch a beer, dinner and watch the hustle-bustle before you hop on the Metro North and transport yourself to tranquility in the burbs.

As if Grand Central Terminal weren't a triumphant enough urban phoenix, cross under the Park Avenue viaduct for yet another left-for-cobwebs space that's become a story with a happy ending. Buzzy O'Keeffe has resurrected Pershing Square as a commuter godsend. Given his track record (The Water Club and The River Café) and restaurant from Buzzy O'Keeffe has to be a good bet.; this newcomer is a commuter's dream: a handsome space across from Grand Central offering wonderful straightforward fare and a boisterous 10 deep bar scene, though totally new, it already looks like a vintage NY landmark.
