The WINGSPAN GYPSIES: Musical Mania summer 2009 program is for incoming 1-5th graders. Two 3-week sessions are offered:

• Session 1: July 6th-24th


• Session 2: July 27th – August 14th

Schedule: Monday-Thursday 9-5, Friday 9-1

Tution: $1500 per session / $2500 for both sessions

Location:Eleanor Roosevelt High School
411 East 76th Street, between 1st Ave & York Ave

This is an innovative summer program where, in 3 weeks, children create an original musical theatre piece. This program focuses on creativity and nurturing children’s inherent acting and writing skills. Kids learn the fundamentals of musical theatre: playmaking, acting singing, and dancing using imagination games as well as formal classes. Students will also have a chance to play outdoors every day. Each session will create their own unique piece; many students attend both sessions. Winning bidder may enroll in one or both sessions.

A typical day for a GYPSY:

• Morning: storytelling games, brainstorming ideas for their play,singing and dancing workshops.
  


• LUNCH at Noon
  


• Early afternoon: Playground time, quiet games, "Set" building.
  


• AFTERNOON SNACK
  


• Late afternoon: more formal work on singing and dancing- specifically from their piece.
