Christine Relton was born in Cumbria and raised in Yorkshire, England. Relton studied art at Jacob Kramer in Leeds and earned a BA (Honours) degree from Lancaster based on time spent in India. She also lived in Japan and Vietnam, and painted widely throughout Southeast Asia. Relton has made collaborative representational works with artist Tom Marine, in which they explore similar themes of place and memory. Their works are exhibited widely in gallery spaces and contemporary art fairs.
