Description

Enjoy a pleasant and relaxing day for two people fly-fishing in the cool waters of one of Northeastern Pennsylvania's prettiest trout streams, Kitchen Creek, on the waters owned by the venerable North Mountain Club, a private hunting and fishing club that was founded over 120 years ago. Kitchen Creek begins at Lake Jean, flows through Ricketts Glen State Park's Glen Natural Area, and upon exiting the Park, enters North Mountain Club. This "small" stream is a "freestone" stream with various gradients from gorge to rough & tumble to almost flat water and is protected by a wonderful riparian habitat of mature pine, hemlock, and hardwood trees. The stream is home to beautiful native brook and brown trout as well as stocked "brookies" and "brownies". We'll fish from mid-morning until the lucky winners want to take a break for an outdoor cookout with beverages and go back to fishing until the end of the day. The schedule will be up to the winners as long as it's reasonable. George and another Club member will act as guides/cooks and have many years of experience fly-fishing in general and on this property in particular. If you're new to the sport, we'll get you rigged up and on the water, providing casting instruction, fly selection, pointers and tips. We'll be right there to help you out. If you're a seasoned angler, we'll give you some good spots to fish and let the rest up to you. It will be a memorable day for sure! North Mountain Club sits on over 700 acres of prime forest woodlands.

This is a Live Event Item.

Special Instructions

Trip is 1 day of fishing for 2 people on the weekday of their choice from mid-May thru Mid-June.  With member usage on weekends, we strongly suggest a Thursday/Friday. We can provide suggested dates based on the Club stocking schedule (hint, hint). In the event of highly inclement weather (drizzle good – lightning bad), you can pick another day.

Start/finish time and schedule to be determined by winner as long as it’s reasonable.

Food and beverages will be provided by the hosts – let us know what you like / don’t like. Don’t expect caviar and Chateau Lafite, but it will be guaranteed enjoyable.

You can use you own equipment or we can provide you with whatever you need (per our wives, we have WAY too much equipment already!).

Although doubtful, in case of unforeseen circumstances, we reserve the right to change locations to another quality trout stream in the region. Based on the time of year, conditions should be excellent at North Mountain Club.

All Pennsylvania fishing regulations need to be obeyed, so both anglers will need to be in possession of a valid 2009 PA fishing license with a trout stamp. A valid fishing license can be purchased instantly online for $31.00 by following the links at http://www.fish.state.pa.us/license.htm  Remember to get the stamp (included in the $31.00).
