This 11-Gallon sturdy and flexible tubtrug made from recycled plastic contains student-made items including cork coasters, a wrapper bowl, an OJ change purse, piggy banks, a pet food scooper, and bookmarks. Other green items donated by our environmentally-conscious sixth graders and teachers include a coil wrapper bowl, a flexible bag woven from plastic bags, high-quality teracycle plant food made from vermicompost, a green-items lunchbag, smencils and t-shirt, a bamboo checkers set, metal water bottles, a reusable hot cup sleeve, cloth napkins, green books, Wall-E DVD, and more!
Sixth-gade science teacher Jill Carrick:
"This 'Greener is Smarter' tubtrug ties right into our green efforts at Sem as well as our vermicomposting unit in Science 6, and the students have been so enthusiastic!"
