Description
These wines are produced by Celia Tejada, mother of SFDS 7th grader Tristan Kemitzis, and her brother Ibo Tejada. They have given a worthy homage to their native Spain that also shows off Lake County's potential for these warmer-climate grapes. With winemaker Byron Kosuge (B. Kosuge, Miura), they've found a raw, intense expression, filled with scents of Bing cherry, dry earth and paprika, and bolstered by lots of structural tannins from the Tempranillo. Made from 58% Tempranillo, 42% Garnacha. Aged in French Oak, approximately 40% new, combination of several coopers and wood types. Medium color, raspberry and earth aromas.
