Description
Create a private label for your own 24 cases of wine! The Fazekas Family has crushed some of their finest Napa Valley Sangiovese to bring to this lucky winning bidder an entire barrel of wine—approximately 24 cases or 288 bottles! This 2008 Sangiovese, from Fazekas Vineyard located in Napa Valley, has aromas of dark cherries, chocolate and licorice. It is a well balanced, medium bodied Sangiovese which will be exceptional with food. The Sangiovese was processed in open top fermentors and underwent native yeast fermentation. After a very light pressing, it is currently being aged in 100% neutral French oak. The wine went through malolactic fermentation in December of 2008. Fazekas Vineyards is located 2 miles south of the Stags Leap District on the eastern side of the valley. The vineyard has 12 acres of Sangiovese, 3 acres of Petite Syrah and 2 acres of Petite Verdot. The Sangiovese bud wood was carefully selected by the Robert Mondavi Winery. The bud wood was grafted onto St. George rootstock, which was planted in cobbly loam soils . These soil characteristics are considered essential for producing top quality Napa Valley wines. Many top wineries in the Napa and Sonoma Valley have produced wines using the grapes grown in the Fazekas Vineyard, including Robert Mondavi – La Familglia, Patz and Hall, Kendall Jackson, Andretti, Luna, Castello Di Amorosa, Spring Mountain Winery , Regale (Santa Cruz) as well as Enkidu (Fazekas Petite Syrah). Robert Parker, world renowned wine reviewer, rated the 2004 Fazekas Vineyard Petite Syrah 92 pts and the 2005 Fazekas Vineyard Petite Syrah 89 pts. Bottling is anticipated to take place in late 2009/early 2010, subject to final tasting of Lot 17 and collaboration with the wine makers. Private labeling will be coordinated and provided through the winery and donating entity. Private labeling may be subject to governmental approval arranged through the winery. Resale will require additional governmental approvals, which must be arranged through the winery at buyer’s added expense if any. So gather a group of friends to bid on this barrel together, and then make your own special bottling labels. Or use this wine to create a special label that celebrates an anniversary/wedding/birthday event—or even spices up a company presentation! These excellent wines will be a unique gift to enjoy for years to come.
