A dessert buffet for forty guests, perfect for a birthday party, graduation, or other special occasion, prepared by Maya Klein (Cooking Instructor and Riverdale parent).  Two possible selections are listed below; final selection will be the buyer’s and is not limited to these choices. 

Selection I:  Fruit and Nut Fantasy
Cherry Chocolate Torte:  Grappa-soaked cherries and mascarpone stuffed between layers of sponge cake; drizzled with chocolate ganache
Macadamia Nut Torte:  Caramel and toasted macadamia nuts in a buttery crust
Pear Strudel:  Hand-stretched strudel dough filled with almonds and dessert wine-poached pears , served with toffee sauce
Strawberry Trifle:  Strawberries layered with whipped cream, whipped white chocolate ganache, and brandy-splashed ladyfingers
Buttercup Cake:  Yellow butter cake filled with lemon curd and mangoes or seasonal fruit

Selection II: Chocolate Indulgence
Chocolate Celebration Cake:  Chocolate layers stuffed with walnut praline whipped cream and drizzled with dark chocolate ganache
Gateau Noir and Spiced Figs:  Dark chocolate almond torte, served with mulling-spice poached figs
Mocha Mousse:  Luxurious coffee and milk chocolate flavors
Chocolate Silk Tarts:  Butter crust filled with sensuously smooth chocolate
Hand-dipped Truffles:  Mandarin dark truffles and canela milk chocolate truffles, or your selection
