This formal gathering will introduce the eight guests to the joys of Port Wine.  The tasting will include 8 different Port Wines, with some of the following types of Port:

Tawny
Colhieta (pronounced: call yay ta)
White Port
Late Bottle Vintage (LBV) Port
Vintage Port

The Guided Port Wine Tasting will start with a White Port served both by itself and as a portonic – showing the guests that Port Wine is more versatile than its reputation may lead one to believe.  During this first part of the evening, light appetizers will be served.

The main part of the tasting will then commence with six Port Wines.  Each guest will have a "wine place mat" to help organize the Ports we will taste.  Water and crackers will be available to allow for both proper hydration as well as keeping the palate "aware" - and encourage one to savor!  Prior to the introduction of each Port, a brief description will be given and a small tasting note booklet may be utilized to log one's experience.

Following the tasting, the guests will enjoy a gourmet dinner, with more Port wine as well as dry wine, followed with dessert and coffee.

This Port Wine Tasting and Gourmet Dinner Evening is anticipated to last 3 hours.
