Artist's Statement

"My paintings are usually of western subjects-the people, animals, flora, and wildlife that are appealing and familiar to me.  I love both plein-aire landscape painting and working in the studio from my pictures of animals and wildlife.  I love the wet into wet, transparent quality of watercolors and the rich impasto of an oil painting.   I continually strive to improve my use of color, light and compositional elements to enhance my paintings and achieve a stronger, simpler statement.

I hope that my viewers will enjoy my paintings visually as much as I have enjoyed the process of creating them."
