Chicago harmonica guru and 6th grade parent, Rick "Cookin" Sherry, as he offers an evening of music you can put both your lips and your ears on!...
10 adults will get the ABC's and 123's of Blues Harmonica on Tuesday, April 21, from 7-9pm at one of Chicago's coolest bars, The Hideout!
Forget the supply list this time! Rick will give each student their own harmonica to keep...and 2 drinks to loosen up the notes.
After class lets out, hangout at the Hideout a little longer and catch Rick’s band, Devil In A Woodpile, will play!
So...learn a few tunes, have a couple cold ones, and stick around for some fine music!!

Rick Sherry plays harmonica, washboard, clarinet, and jug. He has been teaching harmonica at the Old Town School of Folk Music since the early 1990’s and plays professionally throughout town with his band Devil In A Woodpile. Beside their weekly residency at The Hideout, Devil In A Woodpile has performed at the Chicago Blues Festival, and play regularily at Buddy Guy’s Legends and Fitzgeralds to name a few. The band plays foot-stomping old blues, ragtime, and a taste of old jazz, filling a niche of great acoustic music unique to the “home of the blues”. Rick and the band also often accompany 93 year old, grammy award winning delta blues legend David “Honeyboy” Edwards. Rick and the band are also members of the local all-star kiddie band Wee Hairy Beasties. Devil In A Woodpile has recorded 3 discs for local independent label Bloodshot Records.
