A graduate of the Polish Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Marysia Burr began her formal art studies majoring in graphic arts with special focus on drawing and painting. It was long before Burr began to gain recognition in Warsaw. Among her many accolades, she often received prizes for her detailed paintings of the human form using watercolors, oils and pencil. In 1981, Marysia received her Masters Degree in art from the Polish Academy of Fine Arts. Shortly thereafter she made the decision to move to the United States to Southern California. The new environment had a great effect on her art as it became noticible that Burr now included Landscapes and nature scenes in her work. Many of her paintings have been exhibited at the most prestigious galleries throughout Europe and the U.S.
