Michael Potter was born in London in 1951. He studied at Hampshire and he exhibited very early as an artist, appearing at the Bladon Gallery in his youth. He later studied Renaissance art in Florence and returned to the UK to complete a Diploma in photography at Ealing College of Art. He worked for several years as a travel and fashion designer before becoming a freelance illustrator and designer for newspapers, magazines, and advertising agencies. Michel Potter took up silkscreen printing in his late twenties and in 1979 his first limited edition screenprint was published. His work is shown in many prestigious galleries around the world.
