Description

A rare opportunity for TWO PERSONS to participate in a demonstration of commercial lake trout netting techniques employed for decades on Lake Michigan, but now being used to suppress the lake trout population in north Idaho's Lake Pend Oreille. The trip is for someone interested in "hands on" fisheries management and commercial methods. You will see hundreds of fish and be able to pick gillnets and handle fish. In addition to Idaho Department of Fish and Game person leading the trip, participants will visit with Lake Michigan commercial fisherman. TRIP TAKES PLACE MARCH through MAY or SEPTEMBER through NOVEMBER 2009. The boat will leave around 8 am and return around 2 pm. Light lunch included. Winning bidder provides own transportation to Coeur d'Alene.

Special Instructions

Winning bidders must have moderately good balance in order to move around on boat. Bring raingear and appropriate field clothing. Winning bidders will be contacted by Idaho Fish and Wildlife Foundation staff. Date is non-negotiable.


PLEASE NOTE: An additional charge of 3.45% credit card fee, plus 35 cents per transaction will be applied to the winning bid price of each item. A 6% Idaho Sales Tax will be added to the final bid price for all land-based trips, quilt and framed prints. For all navigable water-based trips, no sales tax will be charged due to Federal law. All sales are final.
