Description

Are you and a friend interested in helping make a wildlife management area more "wildlife friendly"? If you answered "yes", this trip is for you! TWO PEOPLE will enjoy a ONE NIGHT stay at the Idaho Department of Fish and Game's Big Cottonwood Wildlife Management Area house, northwest of Oakley in south central Idaho. Winning bidders will assist the Idaho Department of Fish and Game wildlife manager and technician with animal counts, habitat use and basic "on the ground" wildlife management area work such as pushing irrigation water and looking for and marking noxious weeds. Dinner and breakfast are included.

Spring is a great time to see the Rio Grand turkeys in full strut at the WMA. Approximately 80-100 of the birds call the wildlife management area "home". Opportunities to view several raptor species, mule deer, songbirds and perhaps bighorn sheep, so remember to pack binoculars and cameras.

Winning bidders provide sleeping bags, clothing, and snacks. Big Cottonwood Canyon is an awesome place to visit any time of the year. OPTIMUM time is BETWEEN APRIL 1 AND MAY 31, 2009 (excluding holidays and weekends). Winning bidders provide transportation to the Big Cottonwood Wildlife Management Area near Oakley, Idaho.

Special Instructions

Winning bidder will be contacted by Idaho Fish and Wildlife Foundation staff to schedule and confirm trip date. Best time for bird viewing is between April 1 and May 31, 2009, excluding holidays and weekends.

PLEASE NOTE:  In addition to the winning bid price a 3.45% credit card fee, plus 35 cents per transaction will be applied to each item.  A 6% Idaho Sales Tax will be added to the final bid price for all land-based trips, quilt and framed prints.  For all navigable water-based trips, no sales tax will be charged due to Federal law.  All sales are final.
