A rare opportunity awaits TWO PHYSICALLY FIT PERSONS to become involved in a ground search for newborn elk calves. Join a team of Idaho Department of Fish and Game wildlife biologists as they search and capture elk calves by hand, take body measurements and fit calves with an expandable radio-collar. The collared calves will be used to monitor the annual survival and seasonal movements of elk summering in Unit 61 around Idaho's Henry's Lake. This is a TWO DAY/ONE OVERNIGHT trip. Overnight accommodations include dinner, breakfast and a backpack lunch. Winning bidders will be hiking long distances in remote, rugged bear country (grizzly and black bear) with a lot of mosquitoes. Bidders need field clothing, hiking boots, raingear, sleeping bags and insect repellent. Winners will provide transportation to Island Park, Idaho. TRIP TAKES PLACE MAY 29 through JUNE 15, 2009.
