Our pup is a male Shetland Sheepdog,” Sheltie” sable and white born on 12/18/08.  Our little guy is gentle and calm in nature. Our pup has been highly socialized already and is young enough to readily bond with a new family. 

In general, Shelties have a high level of intelligence making them highly trainable.  Shelties are herding dogs and require exercise and intellectual stimulation.  Shelties love to do match their owner’s activity level and respond well to an hour of exercise with the owner (a walk around the block will do)   They love to chase and herd things, including squirrels, birds and children! They are very good with children and love to play.   They will find the best home with a sensitive yet firm owner. 

Shetland Sheepdogs are outstanding companion dogs and are intensely loyal, lively, intelligent, trainable, and willing to please and obey.  They are loving, loyal, and affectionate with their family, however can be a tad shy around strangers.  A Sheltie can also be an excellent watch dog who we let you know when a person is at the door or a car has arrive in your driveway.

At the time of the auction, this pup will have received his second in a series of 4 vaccines, a puppy check up at Huntington Veterinary Hospital.  The little guy will go home with his new people in a brand new training crate with a comfy bed, a bag of high quality puppy food (made entirely in the U.S.A. of human consumable products), a copy of Dave Guild’s “How to Train a Puppy” book, some toys and a certificate for a free exam at Huntington Veterinary Hospital.
