Neo-Classical artist John William Waterhouse (1849-1917) was renowned for lifelike, lavish works that were hauntingly sensual.  Waterhouse was a member of the Royal Academy, and often painted powerful or doomed women of England.  Fair Rosamund was painted in 1917.  Poster donated by L'Affiche: A Gallery of Art.
